The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) has recently released its 2015 ranking of the world’s top 100 universities.
The ARWU, which has been established twelve years ago, is also known as the “Shanghai Ranking” because it is published by the Center for World-Class Universities and the Institute of Higher Education of China’s Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
The ranking is broken down into several sub-rankings. For Social Sciences, which includes law, the ranking lists the following universities (not all of which have law schools, we should note) as the 10 leading universities in the world:
1. Harvard
2. Chicago
3. MIT
4. Columbia
5. Berkeley
6. Stanford
6. Princeton
8. NYU
9. Penn
9. Yale
11. Michigan
12. LSE
13. Oxford
14. Northwestern
15. Minnesota
