The LL.M. and graduate legal studies landscape is in constant movement, and of course 2018 will be no different. To kick off the new year, here’s a short compilation of news and developments that have caught our eye lately:

• LLM Bar Exam, a bar prep company that formerly specialized in preparing foreign LL.M. students and graduates for the US Bar Exam, has lost its lawsuit (claiming $50 million in damages) against its competitor Barbri.

• Controversial former Trump advisor Carter page is reportedly pursuing an LL.M. degree (apparently at a prominent university in the UK, as some news sources have revealed).

• Alabany Law School is offering a new online LL.M. in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Law as of this month, January 2018. This program is designed for both foreign and US lawyers.

• Fordham Law School has launched has launched a Professional Track LL.M. program, which is designed to be flexible executive master’s program for foreign-trained practitioners that cannot enroll in a traditional LL.M.

• Beginning this Fall, Amsterdam Law School and Amsterdam Business School will jointly offer a new LL.M. in Law & Finance.

• USC Gould offers a new online Entertainment Law and Industry Certificate, which can be taken by itself but also in conjunction with an LL.M. program.

• In addition to its LL.M. program for foreign lawyers, Georgia State University is now launching an LL.M. program for U.S. trained lawyers. On offer is a general program and specializations in health, environmental and land-use or IP law.
